JAMES L. STEG

Selected Biography

James Steg was a painter, printmaker and sculptor working in a wide range of media.  Known for his innovative explorations of new techniques, especially in processes related to printmaking, his work is included in the permanent collections of more than sixty major museums and institutions, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Library of Congress, and the Smithsonian Institution. He held an M.F.A. and a B.F.A. degree from the University of Iowa.

He was a member of the art faculty of the Newcomb College Art Department in Tulane University for more than thirty years.
